The Role

The University of Melbourne seeks candidates of an exceptional caliber to lead Asialink. Asialink is Australia’s premier institution for promoting Australia-Asia engagement, hosted by the University of Melbourne. The key primary purpose of Asialink is to drive creative engagement with Asia, by building an Asia-capable, deeply engaged Australia through leadership and innovative programs that build knowledge, skills, and partnerships. Asialink works with diverse communities in Australia and Asia, delivering programs in the Arts, Business, Diplomacy, and Education. https://asialink.unimelb.edu.au/

Relevant Qualifications and experience

Reporting to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor International, the incumbent will have a position of standing in the community, and recognition of their ability to drive policy, thought leadership and advocacy across the various constituents including education, business, media, government, and the arts. A consummate networker, and as the figurehead for the organisation, the successful candidate will be able to both further the standing and critical relationships with the Asia community, as well as motivate and knit together the various programs and teams in the organisation that support and enable its vision and mission as ‘One Asialink’. They will be a CEO with extensive management experience, have a demonstrated capacity to both impact as a thought leader in Australia/Asia discourse and hold a record of driving sustainable business growth through innovative business models.
