About the Role

This role will be a fit for an outgoing individual who enjoys working with the student cohort. The Pre-Orientation Programs Coordinator is responsible for the management, reporting, evaluation, and continuous improvement of the core Pre-Orientation Programs undertaken by Student Engagement to the benefit of higher education students from all backgrounds, with emphasis on equity backgrounds. The role carries responsibility for the training and supervision of paid student leaders and student volunteers who assist in the delivery of high quality and strategically aligned programs to all commencing undergraduate students.

The incumbent will be required to operate independently with broad direction from the Manager, Student Partnerships. The role requires a broad range of skills and the ability to exercise considerable judgment and time sensitive decision making, initiative and discretion while interacting daily with students, and effective collaborations with professional and academic staff across the University.

About You
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:

  • Proven experience in the management of institution-wide programs and events, ideally large scale and orientation related.
  • Demonstrated high level analytical and problem solving skills and an ability to respond effectively to unexpected and novel situations.
  • High level ability to build and manage relationships with diverse groups of people, including the management of junior staff, students, and volunteers, and effectively handle conflict and performance matters.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate independently and with accountability to deliver high-quality programs.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary environment to achieve shared objectives.


Qualifications

  • A degree with with at least 4 years relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
