An opportunity has become available for an Allied Health Practitioner (Director of Research) or Senior Staff Specialist or Staff Specialist (Chair of Research) or Director of Nursing/Midwifery (Chair of Research) to join Gold Coast Health where the focus of our 10,000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia. The role will be undertaken as a Joint Appointment between Gold Coast Health and Griffith University.

The role highlights a significant collaboration between the Health Service and the University as it works to enhance the strong relationship between the organisations and their shared research ambitions. The Chair of Research is an integral clinical interface in leading the research culture within Gold Coast Health and in identifying partnership opportunities for training for clinician researchers across the organisations.

Requirements for the role

The successful candidate will possess a substantial research profile with a strong track record in research, experience in managing a public or private advanced research facility and excellent ability to interface with executive leaders.

Relevant experience working within a health service or the tertiary sector would be advantageous.

Completion of a PhD (desirable).

AHPRA Registration or Registration/Membership with

• the relevant board per the role description;

• MBBS or equivalent plus specialist registration;
• A Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent.

Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis, Hepatitis B and COVID-19.

Tuberculosis screening - to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required.

Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed.

Salary information

• Temporary full time (5 year contract with possibility of extension)
• Base salary ranging from $165,179 to $239,377 per annum (based on the successful candidate’s experience and qualifications subject to relevant approvals)
