About Museums and Collections
The Museums and Collections Department is responsible for Buxton Contemporary, Science Gallery Melbourne, Ian Potter Museum of Art, Old Quadrangle Treasury, and the Grainger Museum.
The aim of the Department is to build a collaborative and flexible network around the University’s cultural assets so students, staff members local and global communities gain knowledge and understanding of contemporary and traditional cultures, scientific discovery and creative practice.
About the role
As the Engagement Manager you will be part of the Engagement team, that works to connect and engage people in our programs, place and collections, and enable the delivery of University objectives.
You will lead a small team of marketing and visitor services staff and work closely with internal and external stakeholders to deliver innovative campaigns for Department including exhibitions, programs and collections.
About you
You have the demonstrated ability to forward plan, prioritise workloads and successfully meet strict deadlines. You have excellent interpersonal skills, which you utilise to effectively mobilise support from internal and external networks.
You will further have:
- Relevant marketing and communication experience in a cultural or public engagement environment.
- Experience in developing and delivering innovative marketing campaigns that develop new audiences.
- Experience and success in working across multiple platforms with a strong focus on social and digital media.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including ability to structure, engage and present information clearly and interestingly to diverse audiences.
