The Department of Business Law and Taxation (BLT) is a leading business law department and part of the Monash Business School. It has a comprehensive teaching and research program that focuses on the many dimensions of commercial, business and taxation law both locally and internationally. In 2020, it is launching the new Master of Regulation and Compliance.
BLT is one of seven departments in the Monash Business School, awarded with the esteemed 'triple crown' accreditation of AACSB, EQUIS and AMBA placing us in the top 1% of Business Schools in the World!
The Monash Business School is based in Melbourne, the world’s most liveable city for a 6th consecutive year (ranked by the Economist Intelligence Unit). Melbourne is well known for its coffee, restaurants, night-life and is recognised as the sporting capital of Australia. Melbourne is proud of its excellent healthcare, education, diverse culture, and booming infrastructure; making Melbourne a welcoming and exciting place to work and to call home.
As law and taxation scholars, the members of BLT have a unique opportunity to demonstrate to our students the key role that law plays in a global business context and to undertake the highest quality research that draws on the business insights of our colleagues in other departments. We work innovatively, collaboratively and flexibly with scholars from our own and other disciplines and with government and industry partners to discover solutions to the complex problems that will be faced by business in the future.
We are also concerned and interested in the impact of business on the world. Our research program produces outstanding international publications, attracts the highest quality post-graduate students, engages in international collaboration and secures external research funding.
This is an exciting time to join our collaborative and research-driven Department. If this sounds like an institution you would like to develop and grow your career in, then we strongly encourage you to apply!
