The School of Allied Health, Human Services and Sport comprises the Department of Occupational Therapy, Social Work and Social Policy; Department of Speech Pathology, Audiology and Orthoptics; Department of Physiotherapy, Podiatry and Prosthetics and Orthotics and the Department of Dietetics Nutrition and Sport.

In this role

The School is looking to appoint a Level A or Level B teaching focussed academic within the Discipline of Occupational Therapy.

At Level A, we are seeking an academic who will work with subject coordinators to develop a high-quality learning experience that engages students through the delivery of tutorials, practical classes, demonstrations, workshops, student field excursions, clinical sessions and/or studio sessions

At Level B, we are seeking an academic who can design, coordinate and teach subjects and courses which provide a high-quality learning experience that engages undergraduate, honours and postgraduate students.

The candidate

You will possess demonstrated evidence of the following:

Level A:

  • Completion of a Bachelor's degree in occupational therapy, and evidence of participation in higher level study relevant to the discipline.
  • Eligibility for registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA);
  • Experience of successful undergraduate teaching or equivalent teaching experience plus a knowledge of current and new teaching methods and pedagogies;
  • Evidence of innovative initiatives undertaken in the last three years that have improved the student experience.

Level B:

  • Doctoral, Masters or Bachelor's level degree in occupational or equivalent experience;
  • Eligibility for registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA);
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching, curriculum development and subject coordination in face-to-face, blended and online modes;
  • Evidence of innovative initiatives undertaken in the last three years that have improved the student experience, and the evaluation of effectiveness of these initiatives
