About the Petascale Campus Initiative
The University invests in state-of-the-art research infrastructure to enable excellent researchers to drive quality and innovation. As part of this investment, the Petascale Campus Initiative (PCI) is a five-year plan to increase the informatics, data and compute capabilities for the University over 2018 to 2022
The PCI involves a significant new investment in computing infrastructure and the workforce required to enable access and use of such infrastructure. Recruitment of the workforce began mid 2019, and as a result the Melbourne Data Analytics Platform (MDAP) has been formed.
This team is working to ensure our researchers, students and collaborators have the necessary tools and resources now and in the future to keep us at the leading edge of research in this exciting, fast-paced era of data science.
We've created a structure to support our researcher-led vision: embedding a process of continual consideration, development and resourcing for both our digital science infrastructure and the academic specialists who will help us maximise our use of that infrastructure.
