Stagecraft Project Coordinator

The Role: The Stagecraft Project Coordinator will play an important role in coordinating the operations and delivery of multiple stagecraft activities including theatre, screen and musical projects. This role is also responsible for organising set construction, budgeting, staffing, coordinating and overseeing student workshop activities, set bump-in and maintenance and bump-out.

The Team: Reporting directly to the VCA & MCM Workshops Manager, the Stagecraft Project Coordinator has a degree of autonomy and also is aligned and contributes to the Workshops Team and Infrastructure and Operations Team. The Infrastructure and Operations Team includes digital, technical, studio management staff who support teaching and learning programs delivered by the Faculty.

You: The successful applicant will require a degree in the field or relevant professional experience, well developed communication, interpersonal and liaison skills and experience in using budgeting software. You will demonstrate extensive experience in working in theatre workshops utilising a broad range of current construction techniques. Proven working knowledge of theatre, dance and production design, extensive knowledge of workshop coordination and facilitation, construction and installation of stagecraft sets, and props is also required.

Location: Based in the beautiful Southbank Campus of The University of Melbourne, nestled amongst Melbourne's major arts and cultural organisations and venues. You will have the convenience of great transport links to the rest of the city with the serenity of the Botanical Gardens close by. You will also be required to attend the University's Parkville campus as required.
