About Chief Operating Operator Portfolio

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) Portfolio is responsible for the University's budget and financial performance, and the management of its property and capital. It also delivers efficient and effective shared services in support of all aspects of the University's business.

About the role

As Team Leader, you will be responsible for ensuring the provision of high-quality administrative services to all persons who attend the Health Service.

You will have direct responsibility for all administration staff, having oversight for the configuration and delivery of all administrative services - ensuring that they meet the needs of the Health Service and the University.

The role encompasses; membership of the clinical governance committee, providing advice on mitigation of risk; the development of protocols and implementation of improved processes; responsibility for ensuring the provision of high-quality services to all persons who attend the Health Service; providing guidance, coaching and direction to the administration team; fostering good relationships with other teams within the Health Service and promoting a positive and healthy team culture.

About you

  • You will have experience in a leadership role in the medical practice and in the development of protocols and procedures to enhance operations in a practice setting
  • Demonstrate high-level organisational skills and the demonstrated ability to respond to changing priorities, including leadership skills and the capacity to initiate, embrace and foster change.
  • You will possess the ability to actively listen, and have excellent negotiation skills
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, including the proven ability to effectively lead staff in a busy and dynamic clinical setting
  • Proven business acumen and financial management skills, with the ability to demonstrate tact, discretion and confidentiality whilst maintaining a professional and helpful manner always, to both colleagues and clients
  • You can work collaboratively, positively and flexibly both in a team and independently, negotiating a wide variety of administrative tasks and adapting to change priorities
  • Demonstrate human resource management skills with the ability to encourage, support, motivate and direct staff.
