About the role
The Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research and Industry Engagement) Portfolio provides strategic direction and support for research and research performance at La Trobe University.
We now have an exciting opportunity to appoint a Senior Grants Advisor in the Research Office. Your main responsibilities will be focused around providing expert advice and guidance across all ARC schemes (and other category 1 schemes) and overseeing and advising the Grants Team staff across the complete grant life-cycle from pre-award inquiry and development to post-award project closure. Working closely with the Health and Medical portfolio you will be responsible for ensuring all Category 1 grants submitted through La Trobe University are 100% compliant and are developed under your advice and guidance. Working with the college Associate Pro Vice Chancellors, Senior Manager, Grants and Executive Grants Advisor you will develop and implement strategies to attract ARC and other Category 1 funding across both Science Health and Engineering (SHE) and Arts, Social Science and Commerce (ASSC) colleges.
Skills and Experience
To be successful in this position you will bring extensive experience and relevant qualifications in research administration. You will have demonstrated success in assisting researchers to obtain and manage nationally competitive grants (ideally ARC). Furthermore, you will have high level written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to transfer clear and concise information to stakeholders, and the ability to present workshops or facilitate discussion.
