Lecturer In Art

We currently have two roles, one full-time and one part-time (0.5 FTE), available in our Victorian College of the Arts (VCA) Art team.

The positions are involved in course development, design and the delivery and maintenance of a high-quality teaching program as well as supporting the VCA in the achievement and further development and enhancement of its purpose and vision.

Appointees will be active and well-respected artists and experienced academics with expertise in teaching, scholarship and research and the ability to work within a team to shape and build the teaching, learning and research within VCA Art.

About you

You will hold a PhD degree in the fields of contemporary art practice and its theoretical context (or immanent submission of the award) with a focus on contemporary Visual Art practices, together with relevant professional experience. You must also have appropriate coordination, management and administrative experience in an Art School context. Previous experience in undergraduate curriculum development and successful subject development and delivery is vital.

Based in the beautiful Southbank Campus of The University of Melbourne, you will work nestled amongst Melbourne's major arts and cultural organisations and venues. You will have the convenience of great transport links to the rest of the city with the serenity of the Botanical Gardens close by.
