Griffith University is recruiting a Chief of Staff to the Vice Chancellor, a position responsible for the delivery of high-quality support services to the Vice Chancellor ensuring that she can fulfil her duties as effectively as possible. The Chief of Staff provides high level advice and strategic support to the Vice Chancellor and is a significant link between the Vice Chancellor and other senior executive staff of the University as well as members of the internal and external community. The position leads the administrative functions of the Office of the Vice Chancellor, providing high level executive support, ensuring effective coordination between the Vice Chancellor support team and senior portfolios and academic elements of the University. This is a fixed term (5 years), full time position based at the Nathan campus.
This role requires a strategic thinker who can confidently lead and bring fresh thinking to the operations of the Office of the Vice Chancellor. The Chief of Staff will be a confident communicator who will independently research, write and communicate on a wide range of issues. The role requires an individual who can navigate the complexity of the University, build relationships and command the respect of the internal and external stakeholders. The Chief of Staff will be a superb people manager who can anticipate needs and focus resources in the achievement of strategic goals.
