About the role
The Finance Advisor provides financial advice to the Chancellery Portfolio under the guidance and direction of the Finance Manager and Director. The role looks to partner with the key stakeholders within Chancellery division to ensure financial targets are met, assist and provide guidance on key strategies with financial impact and provide other reporting and analysis as needed.
The key aspect (but not limited to) of the role will be required to manage the financial resources of the Chancellery division, including the preparation of budgets, forecasting, analysis and preparation of month end financial reports. It includes the development of sound financial management processes for Chancellery and other areas as required. Under the direction of Finance Manager, the role provides comprehensive, timely, relevant and quality business and financial advice to Chancellery leadership to inform decision-making and the development of Chancellery business plans. The appointee will have: * Tertiary qualifications in either, Finance, Accounting, IT, a relevant discipline and/or equivalent mix of education and significant relevant experience * CPA/CA qualification or equivalent * High level business acumen * Experience in and ability to develop and provide analysis and business modelling, budgeting reporting and analysis * Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to build positive relationships at all levels * Demonstrated ability to develop strategic communications plans and to craft high quality communications materials * Ability to lead through influencing * Extensive experience and knowledge in Excel, BI tools (eg. PowerBi, Micro Strategy) and PowerPoint * Excellent analytical skills, judgement and problem-solving skills * Ability to provide business analysis relating to revenue / cost projections * Demonstrated flexibility and initiative, including an open mindset and a willingness and ability to work across the team and collaborate with colleagues when required * Demonstrated ability to apply a University first lens to all tasks and responsibilities * Prior University sector experience would also be desirable
