Research Assistant - Paediatric Infectious Diseases

Part-time position 0.3 to 0.5 EFT (negotiable)

The Research Assistant - Paediatric Infectious Diseases is based within the Department of Paediatrics, located at the Royal Children's Hospital.

The position will require the incumbent to work closely with senior research staff to undertake various research-related tasks and manage the day-to-day running of projects in the area of Paediatric Infectious Diseases & antibiotic dosing.

The Research Assistant will provide support across several studies including: 1) a randomised controlled trial of cephalexin dosing in children with invasive S. aureus infections; 2) study of antibiotic dosing for invasive infections (meningitis, empyema, bone and joint infections; 3) study of antifungal dosing for invasive fungal infections in immunocompromised children; and 4) a clinical study to determine what antibiotic levels we need to optimise antibiotic treatment for Gram-positive sepsis.

Appointment will be between 1.5 to 3.5 days/week depending on applicability of skills and experience. The Research Assistant will report directly to Dr Amanda Gwee.
