The group is providing transformational change, defining and influencing future service enhancements, and acts as a shared services function within the University of Melbourne.
About the role
The Associate Director, Research Information Management is a senior leadership role within the Research and Collections Group of the Scholarly Services Portfolio. This role provides high-quality expertise-based advice and leads the operational delivery and ongoing development of expert services to the University community including digital preservation, research data curation and data stewardship, digitisation, research data management planning, digital scholarship and scholarly communications (open access/science) programs and services.
The appointee will have relevant post-graduate qualifications in a relevant discipline and management and supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant training and/or experience within the tertiary education sector or similar environment. Substantial prior experience at a senior level within a large academic, research or cultural institution would be considered favourably.
You will also have:
- Demonstrated capacity to lead the development and delivery and integration of Scholarly Services research services to meet current and emerging needs of researcher and maximizing the research support ecosystem across the University to enable research outcomes.
- Extensive experience in program development, implementation, management and evaluation in at least one of the areas within the program portfolio.
- High level conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills, sound autonomous judgment and a high level of initiative, including experience in the development and implementation of new ideas and innovative programs.
- Proven ability to thrive in a changing and fast paced environment.
