Research Fellow Ecological Modelling

The Quantitative and Applied Ecology group (QAEco) in the School of BioSciences has an exciting opportunity for a Research Fellow to work on an ambitious new research project combining point processes and joint species distribution models for ecological data. Working with ecologists and statisticians to develop new methods, the candidate will be responsible for evaluating new and existing statistical models and developing a new R package enabling ecologists to use them for analysis.

This is a unique opportunity to be part of a vibrant and collaborative research group in quantitative ecology, and to collaborate with applied and theoretical statisticians both nationally and internationally.

To be considered for this position you will have a PhD in quantitative ecology, statistics, or other field with strong statistical/computational components. You will also have computing skills including programming in a scientific and/or statistical language. For further details regarding selection criteria please see the position description.
