Griffith Sciences is one of the four academic groups of the University and has an international reputation for excellence in learning and teaching, research and professional practice. The Griffith University has been providing tertiary qualifications to the Engineering, Architecture and Aviation professions for over two decades. Recently these disciplines merged to form the School of Engineering and Built Environment, which is known for its innovative and student focussed teaching approaches and its strong industry relationships.
There has been a rapid growth in student numbers since 2007 and we now teach over 3000 students at both undergraduate and postgraduate programs at our Nathan and Gold Coast campuses in several disciplines, including Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Electronic, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Design, Construction Management, Architecture and Aviation.
The School of Engineering and Built Environment is currently looking for an Associate Professor, Electrical Engineering (Renewable Energy) within their Electrical and Electronic Engineering Discipline. You will join a small team focused on the delivery of courses on conventional systems for the generation, transmission, distribution and utilisation of electrical power, including individual system elements and overall system control. This role also involves developing and delivering courses for a second program focusing on the integration of renewable energy into existing systems of electrical power delivery and the transition to a renewable energy economy.
This is a continuing, full time position based at the Gold Coast campus.
To be successful within this role, you will be able to apply your knowledge in one of these areas: Renewable energy integration (solar and wind) to major grids; Renewable power generation and conversion; Micro grid and remote grid management; Electrification (EV, ET, EB and EAP); Power electronics and drives; Renewable energy systems; and/or Energy storage systems. You be able to demonstrate your outstanding contribution to research with evidence of high-quality papers having national and international impact. In addition, you will have knowledge and skills in teaching and curriculum development along with experience in Program leadership.
Associate Professor Level D: $139,183 - $153,337 per annum. Salary package including 17% employer superannuation contribution: $162,845 - $179,405 per annum.
