About the role

The School of Nursing and Midwifery undertakes a wide range of teaching and research programs in Midwifery, Nursing, Maternal and Child Health, Aged Care, Health Service design, Wellness, Time Critical nursing, Supportive Care and Wound Management. The School has a strong research focus and has an ERA ranking of 5. Located within the structure of the School is the Judith Lumley Centre (JLC), which undertakes high quality research in the fields of mothers and babies, breastfeeding, parenting and family violence. Work arising from JLC has recognized for Excellence in Health Research Awards http://arch.latrobe.edu.au/

The incumbent will demonstrate a scholarly approach to learning and teaching and contribute to disciplinary teaching pedagogy and high quality research, while participating in innovative course level curriculum design, development and review. You will have the opportunity to Co-supervise Higher Degree by Research (HDR) and postgraduate students.

Skills and Experience

  • Must be a registered nurse and registered midwife with AHPRA.
  • A commitment to high quality teaching using contemporary practices to deliver and develop midwifery curriculum.
  • Hold a PhD or have made significant progress towards a PhD is preferred. Equivalent experience will be considered.
  • A record of research engagement, with evidence of quality and impact, relative to a Level B academic.
  • Graduate Certificate in Higher Education is desirable.
