About the position
The discipline area of ergonomics and human factors is based in the Department of Public Health within the School of Psychology and Public Health. It offers teaching at post graduate and undergraduate levels, including an accredited post graduate program in Ergonomics, Safety and Health (LINK). This position will require the successful candidate to teach across a range of formats including online and face to face workshops and lectures. Teaching will be in a range of areas within the disciplines of ergonomics and occupational health and safety, with some flexibility depending on the background of the preferred candidate.
Whilst primarily a teaching focussed role, candidates with a relevant research track record are encouraged to apply as some opportunities may exist for a research allocation to be negotiated.
This position will be primarily based at the Bundoora Campus, however the incumbent may be assigned responsibilities that may occasionally require travel to the Melbourne CBD or Sydney campuses. Salary for this position is as follows:
Level B: $93,632 - $110,897 (FTE) per annum + up to 17% superannuation
Level C: $114,352 - $131,620 (FTE) per annum + up to 17% superannuation
Skills and Experience Required
To be considered for this position, you will have completed a PhD or other post graduate qualification in the area of ergonomics and/or occupational health and safety. You will have demonstrated effectiveness in teaching, as well as demonstrated professional practice.
For candidates considering a Teaching & Research appointment, it is expected that they will demonstrate a strong record of research publications and success in obtaining research funding from grants, contracts and/or consultancies.
