School of Design and the Built Environment

We believe that investing in dedicated people and their ideas will make tomorrow better. With this in mind, the School of Design and the Built Environment is seeking an academic with a focus on graphic design in the field of communication design.
Your new role
As Lecturer in Graphic Design, you will contribute to the leadership and growth of our major and encompass undergraduate teaching, curriculum development and industry liaising. Your enthusiasm and passion graphic design will assist you to conduct activities that stimulate and foster student learning and ensure innovative curriculum design and the development of engaging learning materials.

You will bring to the role
A doctoral qualification in relevant discipline (or equivalent accreditation and professional standing). As a teaching academic, you will demonstrate capabilities in high quality teaching and innovation in curriculum, pedagogy and content delivery in a higher education environment. You must have an established teaching profile in the area of graphic design, with experience in curriculum design, unit content development and coordination duties. Demonstrated experience in the graphic design industry, as well as experience in applying industry-based skills and knowledge to a pedagogical context, such as higher education. A track record of engagement with graphic design and/or creative advertising industry partners is considered desirable. Demonstrated high level communication and interpersonal and organisational skills with a commitment to the development of a collegial and supportive working environment and the ability to interact with students and staff with cross cultural sensitivity.
