Senior Research Fellow Old Age Psychiatry

This position is in the Department of Psychiatry, Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences and will be located at St Vincent's Hospital. It is expected that the successful candidate will foster the broader theme of ageing both in psychiatry and medicine and will collaborate with other academic staff active in the field of psychiatry and ageing more broadly to help develop an ageing research agenda across the Department, St Vincent's Hospital and its collaborators, as well as across the Melbourne Medical School and the Faculty.

The position will include three clinical sessions as an Old Age Psychiatrist with the St Vincent's Aged Persons Mental Health Program based at St Georges campus, Kew. The successful applicant will report to the Chair of Psychiatry in the Department of Psychiatry located at St Vincent's Hospital and to the Director of Clinical Services, Aged Psychiatry for the clinical component.

The appointee will be a recognised specialist in this discipline with a commitment to research-driven, evidence-based psychiatric care. The appointee will provide outstanding academic leadership to promote multi-disciplinary psychiatric care and research that will contribute to the goals of the research theme of Old Age Psychiatry to integrate high-impact research with improved clinical care and teaching.
