The Centre for Health, Exercise & Sports Medicine (CHESM) within the Department of Physiotherapy at The University of Melbourne has a research assistant position available to provide operational support to the chief investigators and research staff for their research. The research activities of CHESM primarily focus on understanding and treating lower limb osteoarthritis.

The successful candidate will work as part of an experienced research team and will undertake a variety of tasks. In particular, the candidate will be expected to conduct qualitative interviews with study participants and clinicians to explore their experiences, attitudes and beliefs. Other tasks could involve recruitment and screening of potential participants into studies, preparation of relevant study materials under the direction of team members, organising meetings, performing fundamental aspects of research administration work, and facilitating the efficient operation of the research activities. Other duties related to the support of research and engagement activities of the Centre and Department may also be required.

While candidates with a variety of backgrounds will be considered for the position, preference will be given to those from a health/clinical discipline (e.g. physiotherapy).

The position is full-time however applications for part-time work will be considered depending on qualifications and skills of the applicant. The initial contract is until the end of 2020 with the possibility of extension depending on availability of funding.
