The opportunity

Griffith Sciences has an international reputation for excellence in research, teaching and learning, and professional practice. The School of Information and Communication Technology is at the forefront of information and emerging technologies, delivering solutions to industry and society, and undergraduate and post-graduate education programs that offer high employability. The School encompasses the areas of information technology, computer sciences, data science, business information systems and IT management, as well as intelligent digital technologies. The School of ICT is seeking an outstanding Head of School to continue to drive high quality standards across research and teaching, and strategic engagement with industry. T he Head of School, working closely with the School's Executive team, the Director of the Institute for Intelligent Integrated Systems and the Faculty Executive, will champion a culture of collaboration and innovation, leading to interdisciplinary opportunities in research and learning. Supporting and developing staff and leveraging opportunities for growth through excellent relationships with stakeholders, including the School's Industry Advisory Board, will be important. This is a significant role requiring contemporary leadership ability, a passion for emerging areas of interest to industry and students, and a strong focus on scholarly excellence. Highly developed communication, resource management and organisational skills should be complemented by a demonstrated ability to engage effectively across the University and externally. A doctoral qualification in a relevant field, research expertise and proven leadership experience are essential. Industry relevant experience is welcome. The position is based at the Gold Coast or Nathan Campuses and an attractive salary package is negotiable.
