About the role

The Project Manager (Research Development) will support the development of research programs into large-scale competitive external funding applications. Responsibilities will include the provision of tailored project administration support, facilitation of external partnership and engagement activities, and coordination of internal research support and resources.

The Project Manager (Research Development) will report to the Senior Manager (Research Development Programs) and be based in the Office of the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research Development). The OPVC RD sits within the portfolio of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research), and focuses on developing the research capability and capacity of the University through: managing internal research development programs such as the Big Bid Development Framework and the Research Focus Areas; overseeing Research Centres' operations, policy, governance and strategy; and managing infrastructure and support services through Research Platforms and the Animal Research and Teaching Facility.

Skills & Experience

To be successful in the role, you will have:

  • Outstanding organisational and project management skills with proven record of success in supporting projects through to completion, preferably in a university or other research environment;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including experience in developing communication materials, delivering presentations and facilitating effective meetings;
  • Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to negotiate, motivate, influence and build relationships;
  • Ability to work effectively in a complex and dynamic team environment.
