About the role

In this role, as Counsellor you will support the educational objectives of the University through the direct provision of: high quality psychological services to students; secondary consultation and training to staff to facilitate referral and improve outcomes for students at risk; and innovative groups and projects. This position reports to and receives broad direction from the Counselling Manager and operates within University and departmental policies, procedures and guidelines.

Skills & Experience

To be successful you will need an accredited tertiary qualification in Social Work or Psychology with relevant supervised counselling experience, including demonstrated skills in providing brief interventions to clients with a broad range of presenting issues including mental health conditions. The position will also contribute to counselling and health promotion programs for LGBTIQA+ students. Registration as a Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Agency or membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers required.

Please note this is a part time role and you must be available to work on a Wednesday. The other two working days can be flexible.
