The Role

The University of Notre Dame Australia is seeking a highly respected, qualified leader to be the Director of the Nulungu Research Institute, which is located on its Broome Campus in Western Australia. Nulungu encourages the pursuit of excellence in research through valuing community-based knowledge. Research expertise covers a wide range of disciplines with specific focus on three core research themes: Country (land, saltwater, freshwater, and desert); Health and Wellbeing; and Education. This appointment presents an outstanding opportunity to develop and implement the Nulungu Strategic Plan and lead the research priorities of Nulungu, especially the Aboriginal and Rural Health Research focus.

The Director, Nulungu Research Institute will be strongly supportive of the Objects of the University with a distinguished research profile, significant success in competitive research grants and an outstanding publication record in fields related to the research priorities of Nulungu.

Candidates will have demonstrated prior experience in leadership and directorial roles, possess exceptional relationship building skills and be well versed in the nuances around cultural and language sensitivities.
