The positions will be categorised as Academic Specialists and work in the MA facility located in the Bio21 Institute. The University of Melbourne MA facility is funded by the National Collaborative Research Infrastructure (NCRIS) together with institutional funding and provides state-of-the-art metabolomics services to Australian researchers from academia, industry and Government. The University of Melbourne MA facility is the hub for the MA network which also contains nodes at the Australian Wine Research Institute, Murdoch University, the University of Western Australia and the University of Queensland.
The positions will report to the Manager, MA Facility and will lead the development of software solutions and tools for Metabolomics and be involved in delivering data analysis and/or biostatistical services to MA clients. The appointees will be expected to interact closely with analytical staff in the MA team, the two Academic Leads who oversee the strategic directions of the Facility, as well as other informatics and statistical groups at the University (including members of the co-located proteomics facility). They will also work with analytical and informatics staff in other nodes in the MA network, as well as to develop collaborative links with international leaders in metabolomics.
