The Education Portfolio is headed by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Education and Vice President who leads the planning and implementation of the University's strategies related to RMIT's academic programs and the RMIT student experience. The Portfolio is responsible for services to support the quality of RMIT programs, including the professional development of academic staff, continuous improvement of the student experience, learning and teaching outcomes and the management of learning and research information sources. The Office of the Associate DVC Education sits within the Education Portfolio and supports the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Education) and Vice-President providing thought leadership in learning and teaching aligned to University strategy (Strategic Plan and Annual Operating Plan); enabling enhancement of learning and teaching practice, curriculum design and delivery; and student work-readiness.
The Role & Your Responsibilities
The Executive Assistant is responsible for managing the activities, meetings and event organisation for the Associate Deputy Vice-Chancellor Education. You will manage a busy work diary and provide a high level of administrative support to the Associate Deputy Vice-Chancellor Education. Working within a team, you will coordinate the Office of the Associate Deputy Vice-Chancellor Education activities to support a highly functioning team.
Skills & Experience Required
You are a highly regarded Executive Assistant with extensive experience in providing high level support to a senior executive in a large and complex organisation. With a strong customer focus and ability to interact and negotiate with a wide range of internal and external customers, you bring excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrating discretion, confidentiality and experience dealing with a wide range of stakeholders at different levels including executive level. Key to your success, are your proven communication skills both written and oral, your self-motivation for ongoing personal development and your ability to work effectively as a member of a team while working in an agile work environment. Knowledge and understanding of the tertiary education sector is highly desirable.
