The Industry Fellow is expected to contribute to the teaching (and potentially research) efforts of the School, in programs related to Software Engineering. This includes supervising Software Engineering projects with industry sponsors, developing teaching materials designed to reflect and impart industry practice in Software Engineering, and developing industry linkages to provide Software Engineering internship opportunities.
The Industry Fellow will be responsible for carrying out teaching activities within undergraduate, Masters and Graduate Diploma programs and for maintaining and advancing their scholarly, research and/or professional capabilities. The Industry Fellow will engage strongly with the Software Engineering industry, and help deliver courses and supervise projects that strengthen students' preparation for working with and in industry.
Skills & Experience Required
The Industry Fellow will bring experience and expertise in Software Engineering, from having worked in and/or with industry, and having performed and managed Software Engineering projects. The Industry Fellow will have the ability to prepare and deliver courses at undergraduate and post-graduate levels, including online delivery. Knowledge and experience of current industry practice for Software Engineering and career mentoring is essential, as is a proven ability to mentor and manage Software Engineering project teams. A deep network of industry contacts and demonstrated ability to grow such networks, for the purposes of creating opportunities for students, is important to the role; experience in engaging with software innovation and entrepreneurship would be considered favourably
