This position will make contributions to the coordination and teaching effort of the institution specifically the Critical and Theoretical Studies stream. The incumbent will participate in the undergraduate and graduate teaching program and contribution to the institution's research culture through Honours and Postgraduate supervision, mentoring, and through the appointee's own research initiatives and exhibitions.

The successful applicant will have a PhD in the field of art criticism or art history with relevant professional experience and a developing national research profile. Substantial teaching experience in an Arts School context, experience in undergraduate curriculum development and strong communication and interpersonal skills are also required.

This is a full time, continuing position. The role is primarily located at the Southbank Campus, in the heart of Melbourne's art precinct.

To ensure the University provides a safe environment for children, this position requires the incumbent to hold a current and valid Working with Children Check.
