The Role & Your Responsibilities
The role will contribute to the teaching and research efforts of the School. The appointee will make a significant contribution to the delivery of programs and to be actively involved in research, consulting and other professional activities to achieve success in attracting research funding and to produce high quality outputs. The role will consist of important research leadership in embedding research expertise into the life of the School and will be required to develop high-quality, productivity-driven networks across RMIT with local, national and global, internal and external partners.
Skills & Experience Required
As a successful candidate, you will have demonstrated ability to coordinate courses, prepare and deliver into programs at undergraduate and post- graduate levels, with the ability to design and implement innovative approaches to student-centred learning and quality improvement. Essential to the role, you will deliver core Computer Science and programming courses; the ability to deliver courses in Software Engineering / Software Systems would be highly desirable. In addition, as a passionate leader you will manage funded research projects including complex budgets and reporting requirements. This position is particularly targeted at an academic that can contribute to research and projects in Digital Health and Health Analytics, e.g., Data Science approaches to predicting illness and injury, effectiveness of interventions, etc. In particular, the successful candidate is expected to contribute strongly to multi-disciplinary projects within the CRC for Digital Health. For an Associate Professor, a profile of research leadership at the national level and extensive experience of managing a group of HDR candidates, with a strong history of winning and leading grant projects and successful completions of candidature, is expected.
