The Role & Your Responsibilities
As a Teacher, you will be mainly responsible for the delivery of course material, assessing students and the supervision of students enrolled in selected courses in the School. Participation in the School's continuing reviews of course content and development, delivery, teaching methods (including on-line delivery methods) and methods of students' assessment will also form part of this role. The Certificate 4, Diploma and Advanced Diploma of Surveying are exciting courses that have shown great strength in Industry engagement. Our courses are designed with a blend of practical experience through field work at our Bundoora Campus, as well as a strong theoretical and practical foundation to enhance the employability of our graduating students. We use Trimble, Leica and Faro survey instruments in the field. In the office, we train on processing survey data using computational software, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Drafting (CAD) in our state of the art computer laboratories using Liscad, Autodesk Suite (Civil 3D, AutoCAD and Revit), ArcGIS, Excel, Google Apps and Trimble suites.
Skills & Experience Required
You will have demonstrated expertise in either the fields of Surveying, Spatial Sciences, GNSS control surveys, advanced remote sensing analysis and complex engineering set-out surveys. Your previous experience in producing computer-aided drawings and maps for land management processes will be highly regarded. Important to this role will be your ability to train students in the field and the office. Your capacity to develop subdivision survey designs for local government approval will be imperative to your success. In addition, your knowledge will allow you to set out site and building works and coordinate GIS data manipulation and analysis. You will have a tertiary qualification in Surveying or Spatial Sciences. You will have a Cert IV TAE40110 or TAE40116, and must have completed the mandatory units
