The Director Academic Strategic Projects is a newly created position which provides an exciting opportunity for an outstanding collaborative Project leader to contribute to the University of Tasmania during a period of strategic transformation. Reporting directly to the Provost, this key position identifies and guides the successful implementation of a portfolio of major projects and programs within the Office of the Provost and the Academic Division, relating to the wider University. The Director is responsible for ensuring that the projects align with the broader Divisional and University strategies, bringing strategic and operational insight to bear, and providing expert guidance on project methodology and delivery.
To be successful in this role, you will have a proven ability to operate in a complex environment, be able to lead with a consultative and pragmatic style, and have highly developed strategic capabilities. You will utilise a range of structured, best practice approaches to identifying and developing solutions to complex problems, and will work effectively to those goals in conjunction with staff across the University. You will have strong project management and leadership skills and breadth of experience in strategic and operational project and program delivery, preferably applied within large organisations. You will bring exceptional stakeholder management, strategic thinking and judgement, together with innovative ideas and solutions. The role will require collaboration with stakeholders at all levels across the University, to ensure the Academic Division’s projects and programs are delivered successfully.
This exciting opportunity based in Hobart or Launceston is offered full-time for an initial period of three years.
