The School of Languages and Linguistics teaches a broad suite of undergraduate and graduate courses, maintains a vigorous research higher degree culture, and has an internationally-recognised research profile.
The Language Testing Research Centre (LTRC) within the School of Languages and Linguistics is an international leader in research and development in language assessment and language program evaluation. To meet the demands of existing and new research and consultancy contracts, the Centre requires a full-time applied linguist with specialist training in language assessment and validation to fill the Deputy Director role.
The Deputy Director is responsible to the Director, LTRC and will assist with the daily operation of the LTRC within the organisational, policy and strategic framework established by the University and the School. The appointee will contribute to the success of the Centre and the School through applying for grants and sourcing consultancy income, carrying out work in test development and validation across a range of projects, and through various administrative roles. The incumbent will also assist in leading the LTRC by setting strategic directions and taking on the acting director role as required. The successful candidate will also be responsible for teaching into graduate levels and will assist with the development of new subjects as appropriate as well as the supervision of RHD students. The incumbent will also undertake research resulting in publications with leading publishers in the field, and foster engagement links with external networks/partners nationally and internationally.
