About Melbourne School of Engineering (MSE)
MSE is entering an exciting stage as we work towards transforming engineering and IT research and teaching, guided by MSE 2025, our ten-year strategic plan. With an expected investment of $1 billion in people and infrastructure, we are creating the entrepreneurial leaders and technology of the future - the people and things that will drive innovation and productivity to make a sustainable impact on the world in which we live. MSE continues to attract the best staff and students with a global reputation and has a commitment to knowledge for the betterment of society.
The Chemical and Biomedical Engineering School (CBE) integrates the expertise and capabilities that allows us to setup large-scale tests and deploy promising ideas quickly and broadly. We encompass mining, energy, material science, the environment, medical devices, medical imaging, drug delivery and food production. Our goal is to facilitate knowledge acquisition, research excellence, and its translation into technological, societal, industrial and medical innovation. At CBE, you'll find smart people, big problems, and plenty of opportunities to make a real difference in the world.
To keep working on our fundamental research, we now have an exciting opportunity for a Research Fellow to lead and develop fatigue and failure criteria of equine bone.
Why we need you
In this exciting collaborative multi-disciplinary opportunity, our focus is on providing research leadership in the area of biomechanical engineering. The project is part of the exciting work at the University of Melbourne in equine research, that includes developing experiments and computational models to investigate fatigue and failure criteria for bone.
As the Research Fellow, you will play an integral role in developing this exciting research program by carrying out experimental research and will be expected to perform complex stress analysis on bone structures. You will be encouraged to collaborate in research across the School, University and affiliations to constantly improve and help to enrich our collaborative and interdisciplinary research. You will also be given the opportunity to be involved in supervision of students working on related projects.
To be successful, it is essential that you have experience in the development of research projects and collaborations, and the development of new techniques. You will conduct independent research, leading the preparation and publication of research outcomes for at least 1-2 conferences and journals.
What you'll need:
