The Academic Support Office works in partnership to support the development, delivery and quality assurance of teaching and learning in the Faculty of Arts, particularly in the following key areas:

  • Selection and Scholarships;
  • Undergraduate Programs;
  • Graduate Coursework;
  • Graduate Research;
  • eTeaching/eLearning;
  • Student Programs (Enrichment);
  • Tutor Induction.

About the role

The Curriculum and Quality Assurance Coordinator provides high quality support and advice in curriculum development, course/program reviews and the development of teaching and learning initiatives for the Faculty's undergraduate, honours, graduate and research programs. The Coordinator will maintain in-depth knowledge of compliance requirements and provide support in fulfilling these.

The Coordinator also assists with a range of tasks including Student One configuration, course and subject change proposals, coordination of requests through the Curriculum Approval Publication System (CAPS) and undertake special projects as required. The Coordinator will liaise directly with coordinators and assist with training and support for staff within the faculty for CAPS. They will also be responsible for executive support for the Graduate Studies Committee and Teaching and Learning Committee and related working groups.

About you - skills and attributes will be highly regarded:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and experience in the tertiary sector or equivalent mix of education and relevant experience in the tertiary sector;
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively with external parties and University staff at different levels;
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills with the ability to deliver creative solutions and negotiate outcomes;
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise independent and informed judgement in problem-solving;
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a team player, to support colleagues and contribute to the improvement of administrative systems and procedures;
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with the ability to manage one's own time in order to meet deadlines;
  • Experience in providing committee support including minute taking, preparing papers and communications.
