The Bouverie Centre, is an integrated clinical research, academic and workforce development organisation specialising in family-based approaches to care. The centre is part of the school of psychology and public health at La Trobe University.

About the role

The Bouverie Centre is seeking a family therapist/practice consultant with experience in mental health or related fields to join our team. This position will provide you with the opportunity to undertake a crucial role implementing family-based practices in a range of service sectors, including mental health, alcohol and other drugs, and other related services. This will involve the provision of training, supervision, and organizational consultation. You will help design, co-ordinate and deliver workforce development and implementation projects and contribute to research about how best to build family sensitive practice capability in services. You will also have a small family therapy caseload. This continuing position offers an interesting and varied role within a supportive team environment.

Skills and Experience

You will possess an appropriate tertiary qualification in social work, nursing, occupational therapy or psychology and a Post Graduate qualification in Family Therapy with eligibility for Clinical Membership of the Australian Association of Family Therapy.

This role will suit someone who has skills and experience in providing training, consultation, and supervision. Skills in family therapy and a sound knowledge of family-based approaches and their application in the mental health/related fields, will see you succeed in this role. An ability to manage relationships with a range of partner organisations involved in project delivery will also be an advantage.
