Under the leadership of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Global Development) and Vice President, the portfolio:
- identifies, reviews and harnesses opportunities to further enhance RMIT's global model,
- leads and coordinates RMIT's global education partnerships,
- manages global experience opportunities for RMIT students, staff and alumni.
The role and Responsibilites The key focus of the position will be on the maintaining and building of core business and the identification of new opportunities for expansion, ensuring growth in existing partnerships and the achievement of financial targets. This position combines high level technical, research and project management skills in the development, establishment and management of new and existing transnational business opportunities for RMIT within all regulatory, academic and strategic guidelines. The use of advanced business management tools and methodologies will be critical to this work. The position involves the initiation, evaluation and implementation of market focussed business strategies that support the sustained growth, commercial viability, increased profitability, public reputation and relevance of RMIT University. It will work with internal portfolio and University stakeholders to present global education and other business opportunities to them, and evaluate and advise on the business opportunities they present.
Skills & Experience Required You will have demonstrated expertise in business development and extensive knowledge of international markets that exist or have potential for business development in global education. Your strong interpersonal skills will see you provide expert technical and strategic advice to key stakeholders in respect to international market status which includes market research and structure (supply and demand analysis), legal and regulatory realities, negotiation strategies, risks/benefits, pricing options and competitor analysis. Important to this role will be your excellent conceptual, analytical and research skills and the ability to develop and implement practical and workable solutions whilst working to tight deadlines. Extensive knowledge of the Higher Education and the Vocational Education and Training sectors, both in Australia and internally will be key to your success in this role.
