Everyone needs a platform to launch a satisfying career. At Monash University, we give you the space and support to take your career in all kinds of exciting new directions. We’re a university full of energetic and enthusiastic minds, driven to challenge what’s expected, expand on what we know, and learn from other inspiring, empowering thinkers.
To join BehaviourWorks Australia (BWA), a leading behaviour change research enterprise within the Monash Sustainable Development Institute (MSDI). BWA’s talented team of multidisciplinary behaviour change researchers work in partnership with government and industry to gather evidence on the things that influence people’s decisions and behaviours, and how these insights can then be used to make programs more human-centred and effective. BWA’s vision is to be recognised as a world-leading, applied research centre in behaviour change that impacts practice and policy for a healthy, sustainable and inclusive society.
You’ll be responsible for leading the development and delivery of behaviour change research projects across a range of social, environmental and organisational contexts. The role will have a key focus on environmental projects with the NSW Environment Protection Authority and the NSW Office of Environment and Heritage in areas such as food waste, illegal dumping, recycling, energy saving, resource efficiency and sustainable housing. You’ll also be working with QBE Insurance Group and be responsible for helping to build BWA’s research portfolio in other areas such as health, safety, transport, social inclusion (among others). You will have significant experience conducting behaviour change research in partnership with government, industry and other academic institutions. You will be a flexible, entrepreneurial thinker who enjoys the challenge of applied research and be passionate about translating research evidence into policy and practice. You’ll be encouraged to contribute to BWA’s business plan and research agenda, and you will be supported by a fun, creative team of researchers and professional staff in Melbourne.
The incumbent works under the broad direction of the Director, BehaviourWorks Australia (BWA). As BWA is located in Melbourne, the position exercises a high level of independence and requires sound judgment in carrying out its responsibilities.
This role is a full-time position; however, flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.
At Monash University, we are committed to being a Child Safe organisation. Some positions at the University will require the incumbent to hold a valid Working with Children Check.
Your application must address the selection criteria. Please refer to "How to apply for Monash jobs".
