Salary: $79,910 - $86,499 p.a. (pro rata) plus 9.5% superannuation

The Centre for Health, Exercise & Sports Medicine has two part-time (0.2-0.3) positions available to provide a telephone-based patient support service for a new research project. The positions will be based at the Physiotherapy Department at the The University of Melbourne, and will also involve some general research assistant tasks to support the research activities of the Centre. The Centre is directed by Professor Kim Bennell and has about 20 staff and students. We primarily focus on understanding and treating lower limb osteoarthritis. The positions will involve providing telephone and other online support for people with knee osteoarthritis with a focus on exercise and physical activity planning and increasing health literacy and facilitating behaviour change to support effective self-management. Training in motivational interviewing and management of knee osteoarthritis will be provided. The incumbents will be expected to coordinate tasks associated with providing the service and will need to adhere to the study protocols in the delivery of patient care. The positions require the incumbent to be qualified and registered physiotherapists with an interest in chronic disease management and shared decision-making. Other duties related to the research and engagement activities of the Centre may also be required.
