We have an exciting Fixed Term opportunity (12 months) for a switched-on commercial or M&A lawyer looking to either make the step in-house from private practice or consolidate their in-house experience here at The University of Melbourne within the expanding Commercialisation team in Legal Services.

You will play a key role in providing high-quality, commercial, transactional and Intellectual Property advice on legal matters across the University to facilitate decision making and enable compliance in support of the University's operations. You will have a strong transactional background, be comfortable dealing with research-related IP issues, and be able to help work up the legal and strategic side of commercial opportunities, drafting and executing all relevant transactional documentation with a high level of autonomy.

The ideal candidate will have at least 3 to 4 years' legal experience at a highly regarded firm or within an in-house environment. This is a role for a strong team player with a good work ethic who enjoys a high level of responsibility and autonomy and the ability to use their exceptional interpersonal skills to build productive working relationships.
