Groundwater and the management of this important resource is vitally important in Western Australia and we invite applications for a Lecturer (Level B) or Senior Lecturer (Level C) in Hydrogeology to join a vibrant and dynamic teaching and research environment in the School of Earth Sciences in the Faculty of Science.

About the School

The School currently offers a successful Master of Hydrogeology and staff and students undertaken broad-ranging research in Hydrogeology. In the School we have well established external industry/government agency engagement across all our applied areas in minerals, energy and groundwater with research and PhD supervision concentrated in these areas as well as more fundamental earth science research and teaching funded by competitive grants. We attract high quality PhD students from around the world and currently offer a variety of coursework masters degrees and an undergraduate major in Geology.

About the Opportunity

The appointee will have the opportunity to grow hydrogeology research and develop interdisciplinary links particularly within the School and Faculty. The appointee will also be primarily responsible for coordination and curriculum development of the Master of Hydrogeology. Expertise in hydrogeology will enable the appointee to contribute to the School's research capability and activity, teaching programs and research supervision.

To be considered for this role, you will:

  • Hold a PhD in Hydrogeology
  • Demonstrate excellence in hydrogeology research and publication of research
  • Demonstrate excellence in hydrogeology teaching and experience in supervision of graduate and postgraduate students commensurate with years since graduating
  • Have the ability to engage and develop strong relationships with academic, government and industry collaborators.
