About the Position
In partnership with the Defence Science and Technology Group, Victoria University is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Postdoctoral Research Fellow with a background in a relevant discipline including Heat Transfer, Combustion and Computational Fluid Dynamics for a postdoctoral appointment based at the Centre for Environmental Safety and Risk Engineering (CESARE) at Victoria University in Melbourne.
This Fellow will explore efficient methods of suppressing fires emanating from thermal runaway reactions of lithium-ion battery assemblies. The applicant should hold a PhD and have strong/demonstrated research skills, in particular significant experience in conducting experimental studies in Heat Transfer and/or Combustion, as well as in Computational Fluid Dynamics.
The remuneration package will be in the range of Academic Level A/7 $81,604 - $84,492 per annum plus 17% superannuation contribution. This is a full-time fixed term appointment for three (3) years.
The preferred starting date for this position is the 1st of August 2017.
