SALARY RANGE: $90,779 - $107,553 pa pro rata (plus 17% super)

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full-time and continuing

LOCATION: Melbourne Burwood Campus


The Lecturer will be required to teach, undertake research and publish in the area of Food Safety. This will include:

  • Teaching in the area of Food Safety including HACCP, microbiology and chemical toxicology at the undergraduate and postgraduate level that is consistent with the University's principles of teaching, learning and the student experience
  • Contributing to their specific areas of research, scholarship or creative activity
  • Designing and implementing best practice assessment of student learning outcomes, and participating in assessment panels
  • Making a contribution to Faculty or School committees


  • PhD in a relevant field (or equivalent)
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and administer assessment regimes and provide feedback that fosters independent learning
  • Ability to contribute to the development and maintenance of partnerships with professional associations and (the food sector and) with domestic educational institutions (and industry)
  • Ability to adapt to changes in the environment and effectively meets new challenges
  • Demonstrated personal quality of leadership, innovation and high motivation
