Information Technology Services (ITS) provides RMIT University with Information and Communication Technology (ICT) systems and services. Our role is to support RMIT's high quality teaching, learning, research and administrative activities. Information Technology is of increasing importance to the research, teaching and learning life of a university, particularly a 'global university of technology and design' like RMIT.

The role and your responsibilities

The Service and Support Centre, Team Leader is responsible for managing the delivery of Service and Support Centre support to the University. This includes day-to-day leadership and management of the Service and Support Centre team (including work planning and allocation, staff development, performance management, reporting and quality assurance). They will also be required to support users across the RMIT footprint ranging from city campuses to Brunswick and Bundoora sites. There may also be a requirement to work occasional shiftwork or weekends depending on business requirements to cover the University core support hours.

Skills and experience required

The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to develop relationships and influence numerous internal and external stakeholders. They will also have a significant ability in managing staff with minimal supervision across multiple sites to develop a culture of professional customer service. Furthermore, they will have strong time management skills with the ability to work to tight deadlines and handle the pressure of last minute requests autonomously. Highly developed interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and proven ability to gain cooperation of others at a range of level will be imperative to your success in this role.
