The Education Portfolio is headed by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Education and Vice President who leads the planning and implementation of the University's strategies related to RMIT's academic programs and the RMIT student experience. The Portfolio is responsible for services to support the quality of RMIT programs, including the professional development of academic staff, continuous improvement of the student experience, learning and teaching outcomes and the management of learning and research information sources.The Education Portfolio plays a key role in empowering students to access education, participate actively in the life of the University and achieve successful and fulfilling lives beyond graduation. The provision of a stimulating and satisfying experience for students is a priority for the University.
The Role and Your Responsibilities
The Administrative Officer provides support towards the effective administrative processes and functions in the Office of the Associate Deputy Vice Chancellor (Education). This role is responsible for providing administrative support to operations of the Associate DVC(E). The Administrative Officer will work collaboratively with other Administrative Officers within a team framework and is expected to provide high level client-focused administration support. The position will also be assigned executive assistance duties to the Associate DVC(E). This is a client-focused service and is expected to work closely with a range of stakeholders both academic and professional staff across RMIT.
Skills & Experience Required
You will have proven experience in the support and delivery of administrative services in the tertiary education sector. You will have demonstrated ability to work effectively, flexibly and collaboratively within a team environment including contributing to the achievement of team goals. You will provide advice, contribute to new approaches and drive creative solutions through to implementation within the immediate work area. To be successful, you will have a commitment to quality and continuous improvement and proven ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures and systems. Furthermore, your proven ability to work independently, use initiative, prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a demanding environment will be essential to your success in this role.
