The Strategy and Governance Portfolio incorporates the Office of the Vice-Chancellor, the Policy and Impact Team, University Secretariat, the Strategy and Analytics Group, the Enterprise Project Management Office, Internal Audit & Risk Management and the Compliance, Regulation and Reporting Group.
The Role and Your Responsibilities
The Assistant Archivist works as part of the RMIT Archives team and has a major role in delivery of a range of professional services, which support effective client service, legislative compliance and project completion within the Information Management framework. Under the direction of the Archivist, the Assistant Archivist is responsible for the transfer of records into the University Archives system and the provision of reference and research services for members of the University community and external users seeking access to records.
Skills & Experience Required
You will have demonstrated high-level of customer service and interpersonal skills, demonstrated ability to provide a high quality service to customers and to contribute as an effective member of a small team and have demonstrated experience in and understanding of current archival principles and practice and relevant legislation and regulatory frameworks. Your demonstrated ability to work independently, to prioritise work and achieve outcomes within defined and competing deadlines will be essential to your success in this role.
Furthermore your demonstrated proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet and database packages and electronic information management systems and strong written and oral communication skills, accuracy and attention to detail and excellent research and analytical skills will be crucial to your success in this role.
