The University of Tasmania is seeking an outstanding academic leader as Professor and Head of the School of Physical Sciences to provide strategic leadership and management in research and research training, learning and teaching, community engagement and internationalisation.

The School of Physical Sciences is recognised for its research strengths and teaching excellence across Chemistry, Physics, Earth Sciences and Mathematics demonstrated by significant ERA ratings and ALTC and OLT grants and awards. The School has a strong record of ARC funding across all categories underpinned by access to sophisticated infrastructure.

Applicants will have a PhD, an international research profile and proven ability as an academic leader.

The professorial appointment is continuing (tenured) and the head of school role is a fixed term for up to five years (renewable) and will be based in Hobart.
