The School of Health Sciences and Social Work offers a range of educational programs at undergraduate and postgraduate levels at the Logan and Gold Coast campuses, with a growing external reach that enables students to study from anywhere in Australia. About the Opportunity
As Lecturer / Senior Lecturer you will provide leadership and focus on strategic directions in the social work field education program at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Key responsibilities include:
- Academic supervision and mentoring for staff in the field education team
- Collaboration with other disciplines within the School and the Health Group, the broader University, and external providers
In addition to the roles and responsibilities of a field education leader, you will:
- Develop and implement a long-term social work field education workforce plan
- Establish sustainable and enduring collaborative industry partnerships
- Develop and implement field education business improvement processes

This is a full time, continuing position based at either the Logan or Gold Coast campus. It is expected that the successful candidate will be available to attend campus in person as a normal requirement of the role.
Salary Range
The base salary for Lecturer (Level B) is in the range $100,137 - $118,916 per annum, plus 17% employer superannuation. The total package is in the range $117,160 - $139,132 per annum.
The base salary for Senior Lecturer (Level C) is in the range $122,668 - $141,447 per annum, plus 17% employer superannuation. The total package is in the range $143,521 - $165,492.
About You
To be successful in this position, you will have tertiary qualifications in social work with eligibility for membership with the AASW, along with demonstrated skills in field education management and leadership.
In addition to the above, you will demonstrate:
- Experience in high professional supervision at the tertiary education level
- The ability to undertake workforce planning and introduce business improvement processes
- Extensive practice experience in the area of social work
- Leadership skills and experience in developing collaborative industry partnerships
- A commitment to ensuring that students have an excellent student experience within their placements.
- An understanding of and support for the specific needs of international students on placement
- A commitment to the international endeavours of the University and global partnerships
